The mission
Zone Réno is a Quebec-based platform that brings together in one place what construction and renovation contractors used to chase across five different sites: finding clients, posting job offers, selling materials, and reading useful content about their trade.
The idea came from a simple observation: in Quebec, a small contractor trying to grow their business has to juggle Soumission Rénovation, RénoAssistance, HomeStars, Indeed for jobs and Marketplace for materials, plus their own website if they have one. Every step costs money. Every signup is one more account to manage. Every client contact comes with either a commission or a flat fee per lead. And when a contract is signed, some platforms also take a percentage of the total job value, sometimes 5, 10 percent or more.
Zone Réno bundles all of that together, free for homeowners, and with reasonable fees for contractors who want extra visibility, no lead commissions, no flat per-lead fees, no percentage on signed contracts.
Who's behind Zone Réno
Zone Réno is a project by Alex, based in Montreal.
Alex works in administration in the construction-renovation industry, not on job sites, but on the management side: website, advertising, SEO, and marketing support for a Quebec company in the sector. That dual experience, field (the contractor's side) and digital (web, SEO), is exactly what led to the idea behind Zone Réno.
Development began in early 2025 and the platform is being rolled out progressively through 2026. Zone Réno is fully bilingual French-English, something that remains rare in Quebec, where most local platforms cater only to French-speaking customers and overlook English-speaking homeowners in Montreal, the Outaouais, the Eastern Townships, and the immigrant community.

- Sell new or used construction materials to other contractors or to homeowners
How contractors come onto the platform
Today, listings come mainly from voluntary signups: contractors create their own profile and choose what they share publicly. The "RBQ Verified" badge appears as soon as an RBQ number is entered. As the platform grows, automated checks against the public RBQ registry are planned to validate each number displayed. Verification methodology is a development priority and will be documented publicly as it rolls out.
Customer reviews
Every published review requires supporting proof (invoice, photo of the company's branded vehicle, or another verifiable element). Reviews are moderated before publication. No automatic reviews, no bots. It's slower than a fully open system, but it prevents fake reviews in both directions: contractors praising themselves and competitors trashing each other.
Why Zone Réno exists
Many renovation contractors in Quebec are excellent professionals, but they aren't marketers. They don't have time to maintain five platforms, pay $30 per lead, or write SEO articles. Zone Réno gives them an online presence that is structured, indexed by Google and by AI engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity), without requiring them to become web experts.
For homeowners, it's the opposite promise: a place to find a verified pro, read real reviews, and post a project without being hounded by 15 sales reps the next day.
Region of operation
Zone Réno is based in Montreal and covers the entire province of Quebec, every administrative region, from major cities (Montreal, Quebec City, Laval, Gatineau) to more rural MRCs. Expansion to other Canadian provinces is planned as the platform consolidates in Quebec.
